George Francis Child Villiers, 9th Earl of Jersey (February 15 1910August 9 1998), was an English peer, the son of George Child Villiers, 8th Earl of Jersey. His first wife was Patricia Richards. They married on 12 January, 1932, and were divorced in 1937. They had one child:

Lord Jersey then married American actress Virginia Cherrill, on 30 July, 1937, and they were divorced in 1946. His third wife was Bianca Mottironi, married on 16 October 1947. They had three children:

  • George Henry Child Villiers, Viscount Villiers (1948–1998) who married firstly Sacha Jane Hooper Valpy and had issue:
  1. William Villiers, 10th Earl of Jersey (b. 5 February 1976)
  2. Lady Helen Katherine Luisa Child Villiers (b. 21 October 1978)
  3. Lady Luciana Dorathea Sacha Child Villiers (b. 23 July 1981)
Lord Villiers married secondly Stephanie Louisa Penman and had issue:
4. The Hon. Jamie Charles Child Villiers (b. 31 May 1994)

The 9th Earl was responsible for the remodelling of the family seat, Middleton Stoney in Oxfordshire, and employed Edwin Lutyens as architect. When he tried to give Middleton to the National Trust, they refused on the grounds that the house had been remodelled by Lutyens, the irony being that they now seek his houses particularly. The 9th Earl gave Osterley Park in Hounslow, London to the nation in the late 1940's, and said of the house "it took a trained staff of 12 to bring me a boiled egg in the morning, and the egg was always cold by the time it got to me!" He moved to Radier Manor in Jersey shortly after, where he remained with Bianca until his death. Bianca died in April 2005.

Rightful king of England?

Under one legitimist theory, Villiers was the legitimate heir to the crown of England as due successor to Lady Anne Stanley; and his daughter Lady Caroline is therefore by right lawful Queen of England.
