George Anson Starkweather (1821-1904)

George Anson Starkweather born in Waymart, Wayne County PA, Nov 7, 1821, died Aug 11, 1904, was a lawyer, Merchant, a schoolteacher, served as Auditor of Wayne County PA. was a township clerk for Canaan, a director of one of the examining boards for teachers. He also served as overseer of the poor, justice of the peace, and assessor. He built a leather tannery in Waymart PA in 1859 which was later destroyed by fire.
