A gaylord box is a standard size of cardboard box used by the packaging industry, initially produced by Gaylord Container Company of Gaylord, Michigan. A gaylord box is 48" x 40" x 36" (approx. 120 cm x 100 cm x 90 cm) and fits neatly on a standard shipping pallet. Electronics recycling companies use Gaylord boxes to transport Universal Waste. Plastics companies use Gaylord boxes to transport granulated plastic particles for moulding.
