Fusion International is a Christian, youth and community organisation, which runs projects in many places in Australia and overseas. The training centre and national office is at Poatina, Tasmania, which is a village that was originally built for one of Tasmania's hydropower projects. Fusion was established in 1960 in Sydney by Mal Garvin, and today is an international Christian youth and community organisation with over 250 staff and thousands of volunteers in 27 centers around Australia, a European base in the United Kingdom and work in the UK, Albania, Greece, Germany, Canada, the West Indies, West Africa, India and Indonesia. With their Vision Statement "Bringing young people and communities together with hope", Fusion runs many programmes for young people and their families including an annual Pilgrimage to Uluru, annual Advent pageants, community festivals, Youth Cafes, accommodation programmes, day trips, a variety of school and education programmes, community centres and many other community development programmes. Fusion Australia provides training in youth and community work, and in community health education. As an accredited VET provider, Fusion Australia can teach nationally recognised post-secondary courses.
