From Her to Eternity is the debut album released by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in 1984. The title is a pun on the book/movie From Here to Eternity. The band is seen playing a live performance of the title track in the 1987 Wim Wenders film Der Himmel Über Berlin.

NOTE: The original vinyl LP did not contain "In the Ghetto" or "The Moon Is in the Gutter", which were the A- and B-side, respectively, of a single that was released after the LP debuted. The last track on the CD, the 1987 version of "From Her to Eternity", also did not appear on the original LP.
The songs
- "Avalanche" is a cover of the Leonard Cohen song.
- "Well of Misery" is partly in the style of a rhythmic work song or sea shanty.
- "From Her to Eternity" - the title is a pun on the movie From Here to Eternity.
- "In the Ghetto" is a version of the Elvis song written by Mac Davis.
- "Saint Huck" - Cave's lyrics make reference to Huckleberry Finn, The Odyssey and Elvis.
- "A Box for Black Paul" - refers to breakup of Cave's previous band Birthday Party
