Fridays, originally titled Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, was the Friday night program block on Cartoon Network that showcased the channel's original animated series, with new episode premieres usually taking place in this block. Around these shows, live action segments in a studio with two hosts and an audience of children are were for continuity between the programs. The block aired between 7 p.m.-5 a.m., with the shows and segments repeating at least twice. Bluetube Productions produced the block's musical scores.[1] Until June 2007, Friday night was the only evening that was currently programmed for children on the network from 10 p.m.-6 a.m., with Adult Swim originally airing on Saturday-Thursday nights (it started to air seven nights a week in July 2007).

History
1999-2000
The original title, Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, was based on the name for the channel's original animated programs, Cartoon Cartoons. This name was used from 1999 to 2003. When Cartoon Cartoon Fridays first aired, it had giveaways of Cartoon Cartoon themed items which were raffled away by phone the giveaways ended after a dozen or so weeks. The intro was unique for its time; it involved lines and volume bars showing all the Cartoon Cartoons. Its commercials featured live action people trying to be Cartoon Cartoons. Its tag line (1999-2000) was "Are you cartoon?" and the "Coming Up Next", "We'll Be Right Back", and "We're Back" bumpers were played by NFL stars who hung up cardboard pieces of Cartoon Cartoon characters. Other bumpers featured The Grambling State Marching Band, a livestock auctioneer, a meteorologist, and an astronomer.
2001-2002
In 2001, the bridging format featured newly-animated segments starring the Cartoon Cartoon characters. These segments were repeated until late summer of 2002. The following Cartoon Cartoon characters took turns hosting the show (in alphabetical order):

Scare-Toon Scare-Toon Fright-Days
On October 4, 2002, Cartoon Cartoon Fridays became Scare-Toon Scare-Toon Fright-Days with the direct-to-video Scooby-Doo movies along with new episodes of Courage the Cowardly Dog and Grim & Evil.
2003-2004
After Summer Fridays and Fridays in the summer of 2003, the bridging segments were done in live-action with a new set and hosts Tommy Snider and Nzinga Blake, as well as new characters such as Whiskers, Big Guy Shimmy, Milkman Fred, and Diner Lady, and edutainment segments. In February 2004, the show changed into the current remix form. Although at first, this was a temporary test, it was decided that it would be kept due to how much fans liked it. The original introduction sequence for this incarnation of Fridays featured characters from just about every show that had ever been on Cartoon Network, including shows that later disappeared entirely from the network (examples being Looney Tunes, The Jetsons, and Hong Kong Phooey). It was used from 2003 to 2007.
2005-2007
In January 2005, Tara Sands took over Nzinga Blake's hosting duties. In February 2005, a month later, the show's set was also changed, making it wackier and replacing most of the older characters with newer characters. In April 2006, the set received yet another facelift and now resembled the interior of a retro-chic house. This set continued until Fridays ended in February 23, 2007. "Fridays" was replaced by "Fried Dynamite" which began airing in late summer.
Fried Dynamite
A completely different show, which is not part of the old show "Friday's" source-: , "Fried Dynamite" hit the airwaves on August 31. 2007. This show is on every Friday night from 7pm-11pm. Also, on Saturday mornings from 9am-12pm, you can see the Dynamite Action Squad segments of the show. "Fried Dynamite" is hosted by young Cartoon Network fan, Blake Michael. Blake brings his friends on the show to help out with the hosting and to hang out and have fun. Blake's friends that appear most often are Kamil, Corey, Ryan, and Mercedes. "Fried Dynamite" is the block in which many new Cartoon Network shows premiere. Highlights from the first 4 months of the show include premieres of: "The Haunting Hour,Don't Think About It" starring Emily Osment; "Out of Jimmy's Head", a Cartoon Network original series; and the hit Cartoon Network cartoon "Chowder"- source: . Also, a "Fried Dynamite" Halloween special included a 1-hour 3-D special with a national campaign to distribute 3-D glasses. The December 7th show featured a live performance by the band B5.
Fridays in Australia
In Australia, Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, which ran from March 2001 - February 2004, has only ever been hosted by the Cartoon Cartoons, not live-action. The most used character has been Johnny Bravo. After Cartoon Cartoon Fridays became Fridays, the segment is still unhosted. Small bridges are used to introduce the next cartoons instead. It begins at 4 p.m. with the .COM Pick, a segment where viewers vote for the cartoon they want to see at this time. At 4:30 p.m., two episodes of another cartoon are shown on Double Play. The Friday Premiere is at 5:30 p.m. Australia's Fridays uses the same logo and intro as the US version in 2003, however it still continues its run today.
