Frank O'Connor (born Charles Francis O'Connor on September 22, 1897 in Lorain, OhioNovember 9, 1979) was an American actor and later floral arranger and representationalist painter, most known for his marriage to the novelist Ayn Rand, which lasted from April 15, 1929, until his death. In light of his marriage to Ayn Rand, it is usually assumed that he was an Objectivist, though her philosophy was not yet formulated when they began their romantic relationship. Rand does suggest that O'Connor shared her view of the world: "The essence of the bond between us is the fact that neither of us has ever wanted or been tempted to settle for anything less than the world presented in The Fountainhead. We never will." [1]
