Fever is Australian singer Kylie Minogue's eighth album, released in late 2001 in Europe and Australia, 2002 in North America by Parlophone, Mushroom and Capitol.

Album information

The lead single, Can't Get You out of My Head, was a number one hit in multiple countries. The album reached number one on the Australian and most European charts and sold a million copies in the United Kingdom alone. To-date the album has sold six million copies worldwide.^[1][2] It was followed by the Kylie Fever Tour. It became Minogue's highest-selling album in Australia and was her most successful album in the United States and Canada, making its debut on the Billboard albums chart at number three and peaking at number ten on the Canadian albums chart. There are three different versions of the album cover. The original version had Minogue wearing white and holding a microphone. This version was distributed to Australia, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Canada. When the album was later released in the U.S. and re-issued (in some countries) in Asia, the cover was changed to the headshot with the necklace. This cover is also available in Canada. The cover for the bonus disc edition is similar to the original, but with Minogue wearing a blue PVC costume instead. The album reached number one in over ten countries and charted in the top five or ten in many others. It reached number one in both the UK and Australia, spending 75 weeks on the Australian albums chart where it had achieved platinum status 7 times. It peaked at number three on the United States album chart, spending over 45 weeks on the chart, longer than any other album released the week it was. Fever is Minogue's most successful album to date in that market. It also peaked at number ten in Canada. One possible reason for the record's huge commercial and critical success is its mix of simple dance rhythms with Europop. Stylish but danceable songs like "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", "In Your Eyes" and "Fever" appealed to both teenage girls and clubbers. Many club owners saw the record as Minogue becoming 'cool' again and even non-single tracks became club staples in 2002.

• Note #1: Due to an error at the record company, most editions of this disc include a version of "Whenever You Feel Like It" featuring noticeably uneven sound levels, with the chorus playing much more muffled, low volume than the rest of the song. It is reported that some Asian editions are unaffected.
• Note #2: Due to an error in the disc pressing, the Brazilian editions of the double disc album, came with the discs inverted. The disc that has the words "bonus disc" on it, is actually the regular album, and the other disc has the remixes.

Singles

"Can't Get You out of My Head" was released in September 2001 in Europe and Australia. It debuted at number one in Australia, Ireland, and the UK and remained there for four weeks in each of the three countries. In 2002, the song was released in the U.S. and became her second ever top-ten hit, reaching number seven on the Billboard Hot 100. It was her first top-ten hit in the U.S. since 1988, the first being "The Loco-Motion". It also reached number one on the US Dance/Club Play chart. "In Your Eyes" was released in February 2002. It reached the top position in Australia, while peaking at number three in the UK, number six in Ireland and number eleven in Canada. It was not released in the United States. "Love at First Sight" was released in June 2002. It reached number two in the UK and number three in Australia. (The b-side was the acclaimed "Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head" remix.) The track was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2003, after reaching number one on the U.S. Dance/Club Play chart. It reached number twenty-three on the Billboard Hot 100. It peaked at number seven on the Irish Singles Chart. Note: this is not the same song as the "Love at First Sight" that appears on Minogue's 1988 debut, Kylie. "Fever" was released in July 2002 as a radio-only single in Australia. Although not eligible to chart on the official ARIA Top 50, the song became a huge radio hit for Kylie. No video was released to promote the song. "Come Into My World" was released in November 2002. It reached number four in Australia, number eight in the UK, number eleven in Ireland and number ninety-one on the US Billboard Hot 100. The track won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2004.
