The Federal Correctional Institution of Texarkana is a United States federal prison in the state of Texas. It is a is a low security facility used for the housing of male inmates. A nearby satellite prison camp provides housing to minimum security male offenders. The institution is located in northeast Texas, near the Arkansas border. FCI Texarkana is 70 miles north of Shreveport, Louisiana, and 175 miles east of Dallas, Texas. Notable inmates have included Tony Alamo, Dan Morales, and Richard Michael Simkanin.
