Fantasypunk is a subgenre of fantasy and speculative fiction which came into prominence in the mid 1990s. Fantasypunk noted for its focus on "high fantasy and low life" mixture. Its name is a portmanteau of fanatsy and punk. It features fantasy concepts as highly advanced arcane magic with technology, coupled with a degree of breakdown or a radical change in the social order.
