Fallen Footwear

Fallen footwear is a skateboard footwear company started by professional skateboarder Jamie Thomas. It is part of the Black Box Distribution family.

The beginning of Fallen

In early 2004, Jamie Thomas, having previously ridden for the footwear companies Emerica, Adio, and C1RCA, proposed starting his own brand to the owners of DC Shoes, Ken Block and Danny Way. They agreed to back the brand financially, with Thomas heading the venture.^[1] Later that year, DC was acquired by Quiksilver.^[2]. Quiksilver was interested in acquiring Fallen as well, but Thomas opted to retain the brand to keep it independent, and the company was moved to Black Box Distribution.^[3]

The name

Jamie initially wanted his company to be called Armee, but ran into some trouble with the U.S. Army and had to come up with something else. Jamie Thomas stated "I wanted the company and the riders to inspire kids and be like a movement of unlikely people coming up. Fallen just seemed to be the perfect name for that mission. It seemed kind of negative at first, so we made sure 'Rise with the Fallen' was on everything we made."

Fallen today

The company has a large range of shoes, including signature and team models, and also sell a variety of apparel. Fallen's first skate video, Ride The Sky, is planned for a spring 2008 release.^[4]

Team

Fallen sponsors a team of skateboarders who endorse the brand.[1]
