Eye of the Needle is a 1981 film directed by Richard Marquand, based on the novel of the same title by Ken Follett, and starring Donald Sutherland. The film is a World War II spy thriller about a German agent obtaining information in Britain. The film impressed George Lucas so much he asked Marquand to direct Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, which he did.
