History

The project of creating the Fallout role-playing game based on d20 Modern system started in 2006 and the publisher obtained permission from Interplay, the creator of the original Fallout cRPG series. Legal complication arose in mid-2007, when Bethesda Softworks', lawyers claimed Interplay was unable to licence a role-playing game and thus the contract between Glutton Creeper and Interplay was annulled [1].

Impact of losing copyright

Despite breaking with the Fallout franchise, Exodus kept most of its rudimentary ideas. The game will be set in a post-apocalyptic future and key concepts of fallout, that is supermutants and ghouls will still be present. The game also retained its influences in 1950's postmodern sylistics and references to postwar comic books and science-fiction.

Setting

The game will be set in southwest USA. The storyline of Exodus will encompass an alternative history of 20th century from 1939 to 2012, which is the year of nuclear war's outbreak.
