Eve Bunting (born 19 December 1928) is the author of more than 250 books, mostly for young readers. Bunting was born to a Protestant family in Maghera, Northern Ireland, but moved with her husband and three children to California in 1958. She began writing after moving to California with her three kids and huband, where she enrolled in a creative writing course in a community college. Her first stories were retellings of Irish folk tales, though she has now written over a hundred novels with a variety of themes. Eve Bunting taught for many years at UCLA, and now lives with her husband in Pasadena, California, which is also near her grandchildren who live in La Cresenta, California.
