The Evangelische Omroep (EO, English:Evangelical Broadcast) is one of the public broadcast associations in the Netherlands. It has as mission to bring people in contact with Jesus (Evangelicalism). The EO is one of the very few broadcasting unions in the Netherlands which stays particularly true to its religious (pillarised) roots, and it has references to God and religion in nearly every programme. It was founded in 1967 by Christians who were disappointed at the NCRV for not bringing out more of its Christian roots. Documentaries are edited according to EO's creationist ideology. The Life of Mammals was edited to remove material not compatible with young earth creationism, while still being presented as a BBC documentary.[1] In drama series profanity is edited out.[2]
