"Engel" (German for Angel) is the first single by Rammstein from their LP Sehnsucht. The video for Engel appears to give a nod to one of the scenes in the movie From Dusk Till Dawn While Lindemann, Schneider and Flake are in the audience in the video, Paul Landers can be seen taking Schneider's place by playing the drums. The female part of the chorus of the song is sung by a woman named Christiane "Bobolina" Herbold of the German mainstream pop band Bobo in White Wooden Houses. The whistling is an effect from keyboardist, Flake Lorenz, even when played live, though in some live performances, it is co-whistled by guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe. A second single called Engel, Fan-Edition was released May 23, 1997. It includes different track listing from the original.
