History

He started his hip hop career in junior high school when he sold "pause tapes" in order to buy a pair of turntables.[1] He was a delinquent as a teenager and honed some of his DJ and production skills while under house arrest. In 1997, his friend gave him a sampler, which set him on his way to becoming a producer. In 1998, he moved from Buffalo to New York City where he sold sneakers and made beats. By 2000, he sold his first beat to Rodney Jerkins, a beat that was never used, but enabled Emile to quit his sneaker selling job and become a producer full-time.[1] In 2001, he made a few beats for Obie Trice's platinum album Cheers including its third single, "Don't Come Down." His work caught the ear of fellow Detroit rapper, Proof, causing Proof to use some of Emile's beats for his solo debut album. From 2002 to 2005, he contributed tracks to artists including M.O.P., Terror Squad, Ghostface Killah, Cormega, and many others. In 2006, he produced tracks for Ice Cube and AZ amongst others.
