Eesti Energia AS is an Estonian state-owned energy company engaged in the production, transmission, distribution and sale of electric and thermal power, oil-shale mining, and construction and maintenance of energy systems. Eesti Energia has following subsidiaries:

The electricity and heat production of Eesti Energia is predominantly oil-shale fired. In February 2006, Eesti Energia, Latvenergo and Lietuvos Energija launched a joint feasibility study for construction a new nuclear power plant in Lithuania.
