West Chester East High School, home of the Vikings, is a four-year high school located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. It is one of three high schools in the West Chester Area School District. The core curriculum of English, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science is offered on four levels (academic, honors, seminar and advanced placement) for college-bound students. English Literacy and Math Concepts courses are offered for less proficient students as well as basic-level courses in Social Studies and Science. Language classes include Spanish, French, German, Latin, Italian, and ESL (English as a second language).[3]

East High School is located in south-east Pennsylvania, on the border of East and West Goshen Township. East is one of three high schools in the West Chester Area School District(WCASD). It is on Ellis Lane and Paoli Pike, connected to Fugett Middle School.

At East High School, we continue our journey toward increased cultural awareness. Our goal is to learn and to become more aware of the larger world which brings traditions and customs to our school family--students, teachers, staff, and administrators.We will do our best to do our best at any cost. Through continued cultural awareness, we will respect and appreciate our diversity and recognize that each heritage makes an important contribution to our community. [4]

Construction Project

W.C. East began a construction project in 2003, which ended on October 27th, 2006. The construction involved a huge redevelopment of the entire school interior and campus. Additions were made for a science wing, new gymnasium, new lockers and an auditorium addition. Also, new sports fields, including 43 acres used for all-purpose fields, were built to enhance the athletic programs. Harold Zimmerman Stadium was renovated to include a state of the art track and artificial turf field. The interior was renovated, including new music rooms, a new full size cafeteria, an overhauled auditorium, and a new television studio for the school's TV program WVIK .
