Dustin Thomason is an American writer. He co-wrote the 2004 novel The Rule of Four with his childhood friend Ian Caldwell. The Rule of Four reached the top of the New York Times Best Seller list, where it remained for more than six months. The book was a number-one national and international bestseller and has been translated into more than 25 languages. It has sold more than four million copies worldwide, and to date is the best selling debut novel of the decade. It is currently being developed by Warner Bros. as a feature film. Thomason and Caldwell were members of the class of 1994 at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax County, Virginia. Thomason studied anthropology and medicine at Harvard University. While there, he won a Hoopes Prize for an outstanding senior thesis. He received his MD and his MBA from Columbia University. He co-created and is executive producer of the 2006 ABC drama The Evidence. Thomason lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
