Douglas is an agricultural and stock farming town situated near the confluence of the Orange and Vaal Rivers in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. In 1848 a mission station was founded by Reverend Isaac Hughes and by 1867 a town was established around the station. The town was named after Lieutenant-General Sir Percy Douglas.
