Doug E. Doug (born January 7 1970) is an American actor and comedian. Doug was born Douglas Bourne in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn. Doug has appeared in a number of films, including Jungle Fever (1991), Hangin' with the Homeboys (1991), Class Act (1992), Cool Runnings (1993), Operation Dumbo Drop (1995), and the remake of Disney's That Darn Cat (1997). He also appeared in Eight Legged Freaks (2002). He was the star of his own short-lived ABC sitcom, Where I Live, a show which won the acclaim of Bill Cosby, and subsequently played Hilton Lucas' boarder and surrogate son Griffin Vesey on Cosby. Doug had a voice role in the 2004 animated feature Shark Tale. Has also appeared on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Diagnosis Murder. Doug briefly endorsed the popular early 90's beverage, Boku. He initially took the stage name Dougie Dougie, after an emcee had trouble remembering his last name during an introduction and muttered to himself "Doug E... Doug E..." This was later compressed into Doug E. Doug.
