Domnall Midi or Domnall mac Murchado (before 715–763) was son of Murchad mac Diarmata of Clann Cholmáin of the Southern Uí Néill. He was King of Mide and, according to the later lists, High King of Ireland. Domnall Midi rose to prominence in 743, when he defeated and killed Áed Allán of the Cenél nEógain, the reigning High King, in battle at Seredmag. Domnall, unlike Áed Allán, maintained good relations with the Uí Dúnlainge kings of Leinster. He was notable for his devout Christianity and twice retired for a short time to a monastery. As with his successor as nominal High King, Niall Frossach, brother of Áed Allán, Domnall's reign was relatively peaceful and there is only one report of Domnall at war. Domnall died in December 763 and was followed by Niall Frossach according to the lists of High Kings. Domnall left at least one son, Donnchad Midi mac Domnaill, who would be counted a High King in later years.
