Cousins Danijela (Данијела, born February 1, 1984, Belgrade, Yugoslavia) and Danica Karić (Даница Карић, born April 20, 1985, Peć, Kosovo, Yugoslavia) are musicians from Serbia. Born to a privileged family in the mid 1980s, the girls were raised in well respected cirlces where they developed their taste and ability to write and perform music. Both young ladies are singers as well as accomplished pianists. Danijela (daughters of Dragomir Karić) and Danica (daughter of Dragomir's brother Bogoljub who owns the BKTV television network), quickly made headway into the media markets of former Yugoslav republics. Their debut album Krovovi i oblaci ('Roofs and Clouds', 2000) was a success in Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montetengro), as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. The latest album Zemlja i so ('Land and salt') is also selling well throughout the region, proving yet again that although politics may create borders, the world of art has no limits and is appreciated by people universally.
