Biography
The Dirty South County, consisting of Mayowa, AKA Royale, and Junior, AKA 2wentyWon, was formed in the summer of 2004. Royale, at the age of 16, bringing most of the lyrical prowess, and 2wentyWon, at the age of 19, doing the production work and some rhyming, have become one of the most powerful, dynamic duos to come out of the state of Texas. Born and raised in the Westside of Dallas, Texas (Irving), Royale and 2wentyWon, from childhood, have been enveloped by their parents tastes of music: from Afro, to Reggae, to Soft Rock, to Gospel. With music steadily playing in their home while growing up, and their mother singing in the church choir, there was no doubt that they would enjoy music and become musical artists later on in life. That time was sooner than expected. Royale has been writing rhymes since the age of 10, and has been steadily; not only as a lyricist and a rapper, but as an artist. Excelling in language in academia, Royale has been able to forge rhymes and lines sub par to none. 2wentywon starting beatmaking at the age of 14 after a friend passed him a copy of FL Studio. Immediately falling in love with the software and beatmaking, he began to supply his brother with catchy instrumentals to flow over. Royale's lyrical complexity, that boggles many minds by his age, and 2wentyWon's knocking instrumentals and catchy hooks have not only caught the attention of many DJs and hip hop fans, but general music fans of all ages. With a Commercial yet gritty style, and having been featured on mixtapes along side artists such as David Banner, Young Buck, DFB, Tum-Tum, Young Dro, Fat Joe, Lil Scrappy, and Youngbloodz, DSC is catching the ears of listeners, keeping heads nodding, and bodies bumping.
