Dink, the Little Dinosaur (1989–1991) Dink is an adventurous little Apatosaurus featured on the Hanna-Barbera animated cartoon Dink, the Little Dinosaur. The series followed Dink the Apatosaurus as he roamed the volcanic landscape of prehistory in a place called Dinosaur Valley. Dink's friends included Amber (Corythosaurus), Scat (Compsognathus), Shyler (a Edaphosaurus), Flapper (a Pteranodon) and Crusty, an old turtle who mentored the dino youngsters. The bad guy in the neighborhood was Tyrannor the Tyrannosaurus who chased Dink and the gang all over their prehistoric world. Starting with the second season, the show introduced a weekly segment called “Factasaurus” that taught lessons and fun facts educating children about different dinosaur species. Produced by Ruby-Spears Productions, the 30-minute series was based on 1989 movie Dink the Little Dinosaur which spawned the sequel Land of No Return in 1994. Its storylines fostered positive behaviors, such as caring about oneself and others, tolerance, ecology, problem-solving and team work. The series was put to an end after two successful seasons on the air in 1991.
