Diehl Aerospace GmbH is a Joint venture between Diehl BGT Defence and Thales Group operating in the field of Avionics. The headquarters of the company are in Überlingen, Germany. The company was founded in 2006 as result of the merger of Diehl Avionik Systeme GmbH and Diehl Luftfahrt Electronik. As of 2007, Diehl Aerospace has approx. 1200 employees and a turnover revenue of €180 Million.

Involvement in major avionics programs

A380

In 2002, Diehl Aerospace (then Diehl Avionik Systeme) was chosen by Airbus for the following systems of A380:

  • Doors and Slides Management System
  • Slat Flap Control Computer.
  • Cabin lighting with programmable multi-spectral LEDs

Moreover, in cooperation with Thales Group, Diehl Avionik Systeme contributed to the development of other major A380 systems:
