Det Norske Veritas or DNV is a Norwegian company established in 1864. DNV is an independent foundation whose its objectives are "Safeguarding life, property, and the environment" and is a leading provider of services for managing risk. DNV is an international company with about 7000 employees in 300 offices world wide, spread over 100 countries. The headquarters are located at Høvik outside Oslo, Norway.
