Destroy All Humans! is a video game franchise made by Pandemic Studios and soon to be Sandblast Games. The first two games are available for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox systems and the two later sequels are for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Portable, and Wii systems. There are two games in series and soon to be four in 2008.

Setting

The games take place on Earth where Furon Cryptosporidium, also known as Crypto, gathers Furon DNA to save his species and destroys humans, his enemies, and anyone who stands in his way. In every game, the setting always takes place 10 years after the previous game. In the first game, it takes place in the 1950s. In the second game, it takes place in the 1960s. The new upcoming titles take place in the 1970s. The enemies Crypto has faced in the past are Majestic 12, KGB, and the Blisk. The cities Crpyto has visited in the games are complete spoofs of the cities in real life. The locations Crypto has invaded are Turnipseed Farm (a Midwestern farm), Rockwell (a Midwestern small town), Santa Modesta (a California suburb), Area 42 (Area 51), Union Town (Norfolk, Virginia), Capitol City (Washington D.C.), Bay City (San Francisco), Albion (London), Takoshima (Tokyo), Tunguska (Siberia), and Solaris, a Soviet moon base.

Main Characters

  • Cryptosporidium - Cryptosporidium, also known as Crypto, is the main character in the series. A member of an alien species known as Furons he is an anti-hero who enjoys wreaking havoc and destroying all humans. Crypto's boss is Orothopox 13, who usually gives Crypto missions. Sometimes Crypto gives Pox a hard time whenever Pox gives him a mission with a variety of wise-cracking remarks.
  • Orthopox 13 - Orthopox 13, also known as Pox by Crypto, is Crypto's boss who gives him his assignments. Pox is an intelligent Furon scientist who likes to experiment on Furon DNA. His achievements: Conqueror of Zarkon-5, Hero of the Battle of Tharsis Mons, Winner of the Xanthrax-47 Mental Cruelty Award 6 years running. In the second game in the series, Pox dies when the KGB shoot a missile at the mothership. Now Pox is a hologram on a floating disc dubbed a Holopox unit. Even though he's dead, he still gives Crypto missions. He remains a hologram for the entire game, and it is unknown if he ever gets a new body.
  • Natalya Ivanova - Natalaya is a Russian spy who is an ally and love interest of Crypto, who made her first appearance in the second game. Born in the USSR, she is trying to protect her homeland from what she initially thinks is corruption. Her love interest is Agent Sergei, whom Crypto hates. Whenever Natalya and Crypto meet, Crypto always gives Natalya sexual innuendo comments. Natalya is killed by Milenkov in the end of the second game, but is later cloned by Crypto who made the clone a little different than the original Natalya, as she seems to give in Crypto's advances.

Storyline

Destroy All Humans!

In 1957, Cryptosporidium-137 first arrived to Earth to investigate the planet and search for his brother, Cryptosporidium-136 who disappeared after Orthopox-13 sends him to Earth on a similar mission. Pox sends Crypto on a mission to harvest human brain stems (which contain Furon DNA, due to an encounter between Furon sailors and humans in ancient times) to prevent his species from going extinct. To accomplish his mission, he must defeat the Majestic, an shadowy government organization led by a black-clad figure named Silhouette. After accomplishing this, Crypto takes over the United States by posing as the President.

10 years have gone by since Crypto defeated Majestic and took over the United States. Crypto-137 has died of an unknown cause and is replaced with Crypto-138, a clone with pure Furon DNA harvested from human brains. Crypto-138 is the first Furon in millennia to possess genitalia, as his pure DNA has not been corrupted by radiation. When the KGB destroy the mothership and Pox, Crypto must find a way to stop the KGB from destroying America. Also, he must stop the KGB leader Milenkov and his soldiers from taking over the planet, with the help of the Blisk and their alien technology.

Upcoming Titles

Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed

Big Willy Unleashed takes place after Destroy All Humans! 2 and before Path of the Furon. Crypto and Pox start a fast food restaurant to harvest more Furon DNA. Later, their rival restaurant, Colonel Kluckin', find out their secret and Crypto must protect the restaurant with the Big Willy mascot mech.

Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon

Takes place after Big Willy Unleashed, Crypto faces up against new alien enemies that are a major threat to the entire planet of Gorta and seems to get help from a wise old Furon in order to save his home planet.

Destroy All Humans! Crypto Does Vegas

Destroy All Humans! Crypto Does Vegas is a recently announced Mobile phone version of Path of the Furon. In the game, Crypto must zap tourists and gamblers to find the best DNA possible in Sin City. The release date is not yet known.
