Denis Daly (174710 October 1792) of Dunsandle, near Loughrea, Co Galway, was an Irish landowner and politician. His father was James Daly of Carrownakelly and Dunsandle and his mother was Catherine Gore, daughter of Sir Ralph Gore. Daly owned estates in Co Mayo, Co Galway, Co Clare, and Co Limerick. He had to sell off half of these estates to pay debts, but on his marriage to Henrietta Maxwell, the only daughter of the 1st Earl of Farnham, his fortunes once again increased. He built Dunsandle House sometime in the mid-eighteenth century. He was Member of Parliament for County Galway from 1783 to 1792, and was a friend of Henry Grattan. In 1769 and 1772 he served as Mayor of Galway. He eldest son, James Daly who was also MP for County Galway.
