The Democratic Labour Party (DLP) is the social-democratic opposition party in Barbados. It currently has 6 of 30 seats in the Parliament of Barbados, and is led by David Thompson. It was founded in 1955, and governed between 1961, through independence in 1966, to 1976, under the rule of Errol Barrow. It then governed again from 1986 to 1994, under Erskine Sandiford.
