Dead by Dawn is a film festival in Edinburgh, Scotland specifically devoted to horror films. Established in 1993 by Adele Hartley, this is a discovery festival showcasing mostly independent films, both short films and feature length films.[1][2] Dead by Dawn is a member of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation (EFFFF) and occurs once yearly, usually in mid-April.[3] In support of emerging talent within the genre, Beautiful Books created a horror imprint called Bloody Books for the purpose of publishing Read by Dawn, an anthology of contemporary short horror fiction, alongside Classic Tales of Horror Vol 1.
