Between 1991 and 1996, he recorded three studio albums on various divisions of Mercury Records; in that same time span, seven of his singles entered the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. An additional self-produced album was announced in 2005, but does not appear to have been released.
Biography
Robert Andrykowski was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois on March 1, 1961. Over time, his family moved to Nebraska, and subsequently to Denver, Colorado.[1] As a teenager, he found work singing at various nightclubs throughout Denver, Colorado. By the late 1980s, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, eventually adopting the stage name Davis Daniel and landing a record deal with Polygram Records, then owner of Mercury Records, in 1991. His debut album, Fighting Fire with Fire, was issued that year; it produced four Top 40 singles on the country charts.[1] By 1994, Polygram had encountered financial troubles; Daniel was then shifted to their Polydor division, which released his second album, Undeniable, in 1994.[3] After Polydor declared bankruptcy, its entire roster was moved to A&M Records in 1996. That year, Davis released his third and final studio album, I Know a Place; however, A&M itself soon declared bankruptcy, and he was left without a record deal. In 2005, he announced plans to record an inependent album.[3] Davis currently resides in Marietta, Georgia, with his wife and children.[3]
