David Copperfield 2000 was a joint US/Irish TV film adaptation of Charles Dickens's novel David Copperfield. It was filmed in Ireland.

Cast

Like most Dickens film adaptations, 'David Copperfield 2000' had a cast of well-known names and faces. Michael Richards played Mr. Micawber, Anthony Andrews played Mr. Edward Murdstone, Eileen Atkins was Miss Jane Murdstone, and Frank MacCusker played Uriah Heep. Hugh Dancy played the adult David Copperfield, and Max Dolbey was Copperfield as a boy. Sally Field played Aunt Betsey Trotwood, and Judy Cornwell was Peggotty. Julie Cox (Dora) and Emily Hamilton (Agnes) played Copperfield's wives. Paul Bettany appeared as James Steerforth. Other famous names included in this production were Edward Hardwicke (Mr. Wickfield), Freddie Jones (Barkis), Nigel Davenport (Dan Peggotty), Dudley Sutton (Mr. Dick), and Alec McCowen (Mr. Jorkins).
