Dan Barrett is an American Republican politician and a county commissioner from Davie County, North Carolina. Barrett was one of the candidates for the Republican gubernatorial nomination to challenge Governor Mike Easley in the 2004 election. One of Barrett's major campaign actions was to personally walk across the state of North Carolina; however, he placed fourth in a field of six candidates, earning only 5% of the primary vote.
