DJ Sammy (born Samuel Bouriah, 29 October 1969, Majorca, Spain) is a dance music DJ. He has had four Top 10 hits in the United Kingdom.[1] His cover of Bryan Adams' "Heaven" was a collaboration with Dominique van Hulst, a popular Dutch vocalist who is usually known as Do. It reached number one in the UK Singles Chart.[1] He has also collaborated with Loona under the stage name of DJ Sammy feat. Charsima, whom he later married, in the making of his early singles. In addition he has also collaborated with Yanou, who produced the more subtle "Heaven (Candlelight Mix)", and later "Heaven 911", commemorating the victims of 9/11. He also did a successful cover of Don Henley's "Boys of Summer" which reached #2 in the UK Singles Chart.[1]

Career
DJ Sammy started his music career in 1984 in dance clubs of Majorca. He did gigs at clubs such as Alexandra, Bananas and Zorba's. At the same time he completed training as a sound technician at the Mallorca Music College. He was a DJ at the Cadena Top radio station. In 1991 he met a singer, Marie José and they performed at Zorba's Club in Palma. In 1992, DJ Sammy became resident DJ at the Joy Palace Club in Arenal. In November 1995 DJ Sammy released the first single "Life Is Just A Game" with Loona that became a top 10 hit in the Spanish record chart. Other singles like "You're My Angel" and "Prince Of Love" were popular in the German record chart. In June 1998, DJ Sammy released his debut album, Life Is Just A Game, that was received with positive reviews across Europe. He has founded his own dance music label, Super M Records and the Gamba Music Company.
