History

The Czech Society of Actuaries was established in 1992 to resume the activities of the Society of Czechoslovak Insurance Technicians. The Society and the University jointly organise a regular Seminar in Actuarial Science (Czech: Seminář z aktuárských věd). University examinations are also a common way to gain full membership of the association. The Society represents Czech actuaries within international actuarial community. In 1998, it became a full member of the International Actuarial Association, and after the country's accession to the European Union in 2004, the Society has become also a full member of the Groupe Consultatif.
