Cuthbert was the mascot of the British software company Microdeal and was a character in several of their games of the 1980s:-

The first two of these games, Digging and Walkabout, were written at Microdeal by programmer Steve Bak. The others were originally marketed overseas under completely different names and had nothing to do with the original Cuthbert games. Microdeal also produced Cuthbert-branded blank media (tapes, disks, etc) and published an occasional semi-promotional magazine called The Cuthbert Chronicle.
