Cream Records is a record label started by Alvin Bennett in 1968, after he sold Liberty Records to Transamerica Corporation. In 1977, it acquired Hi Records from Willie Mitchell. Since 1989, the company (as Hi Records) is headed by Adalah Bennett Shaw, Alvin's daughter. A second Cream Records, based in the United Kingdom, is affiliated with the Cream nightclub of Liverpool.
