Cory Sarich (born August 16, 1978, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is 6'4" tall, weighs 210 lbs, shoots right and plays defence for the Calgary Flames.

Playing career

Cory Sarich was selected in the 2nd round, 27th overall, in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. Sarich was traded along with Wayne Primeau and Brian Holzinger from Buffalo, to Tampa Bay for Chris Gratton on March 9, 2000. Sarich signed a five-year contract with the Calgary Flames on July 1, 2007. On December 12, 2007, Sarich became the NHL's reigning iron man, when Brendan Morrison was forced to miss a game with wrist complications.[1] He played his 419th consecutive game the day before in a game against Tampa Bay, where Sarich had played four full seasons and 388 games.[1]

Personal life

Sarich is of Croatian descent. He grew up in the Bladworth Kenaston area. He lives in Sylvan Lake.
