Corsham Computer Centre (CCC) is an underground British government installation near RAF Corsham and RAF Rudloe Manor in the heavily-tunneled Corsham area of Wiltshire. CCC is a strategic communications facility, for UK defense operations. It provides real-time support to front line servicemen. CCC is named 'Corsham Computers' on civilian invoices. CCC was, until recently, omitted from all but military level Ordnance Survey maps; now it is shown, but its purpose is not labelled and it is not designated as military ground. It was built during the 1980s, when Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the early 1980s.

Facility Description
The access sign to CCC is of a civilian type, to disguise the nature of the place. Corsham Computer Centre occupies part of Tunnel Quarry, a large stone mine adjoining Box Tunnel. CCC is accessed through an above-ground bunker, although the facility is an entirely underground complex located below the Wiltshire countryside. The heavily fortified facility is entombed within blast proof doors. CCTV follows your movements when on the property to alert security of your presence. The facility has obvious characteristics of an underground bunker, with no real above ground features barring a grassy mound with steps down to the door. The approach road and signage are designed to provide very low key security - i.e. it is possible to drive right up to the centre before encountering the MOD Police. Covert surveilance is also known to protect the facility. Crop circle enthusiast Matthew Williams who has previously investigated the facility and who still has contact with the contractors who built it, stated that the facility is only 120ft (about 36m) below the surface and would not be able to withstand a direct nuclear strike.[1] When you are through the blast proof doors, you must use test tube style pods to enter the main area. The pod system limits the number of people able to enter the complex within a certain timeframe. Once past these there is a fast moving lift that goes down to just one level, but very far from the surface. This opens into a main hallway, circular, with 5 hallways from that, the front 2 have offices in them. The hallway is sparse, and contains nothing more than a water dispenser.
Purpose
Investigative journalist Matthew Williams has claimed that CCC is a joint Army, RAF and Navy facility which is a fallback strike command centre duplicating the functions of NATO Strike Command at High Wycombe, Northwood, Oakhanger and others. [1] The MoD has given the press a number of cover stories regarding the function of CCC, including one that it is a submarine RADAR tracking station.
