Cornwallis Junior High School is a junior high school in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was founded in 1948. The school takes its name from Lord Edward Cornwallis, who founded the city. The foundation stone was laid by the Lord Cornwallis of the time on July 1, 1948, which was the bicentennial of the city's foundation. The school's mascot is the chough, a small blackbird found in Cornwall, England.
