The Constitutional Democratic Rally (Arabic: التجمع الدستوري الديمقراطي Al-Tajammu` al-Dustūrī al-Dīmuqrāṭī, French: Rassemblement Constitutionel Démocratique, RCD) is the ruling party in Tunisia. Called the Socialist Destourian Party (PSD) until 1988, launched in 1964 by president Habib Bourguiba as the country's sole legal party, the RCD is the party of president Zine el Abidine Ben Ali and prime minister Mohamed Ghannouchi. In the 1999 elections it received the 91.6% of the vote and 148 out of 182 seats in the Chamber of Deputies of Tunisia. At the last legislative elections, 24 October 2004, the party won 87.7% of the popular vote and 152 out of 189 seats. The same day, its candidate, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, won 94.5% at the presidential elections and was re-elected president. It is a member of the Socialist International.
