Clifford is a village in Lapeer County of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 324. The village is within Burlington Township.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km²), all land.

Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 324 people, 119 households, and 82 families residing in the village. The population density was 214.7 per square mile (82.8/km²). There were 131 housing units at an average density of 86.8/sq mi (33.5/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.60% White, 0.31% African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.93% from other races, and 1.85% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.70% of the population. There were 119 households out of which 36.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were married couples living together, 11.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% were non-families. 26.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.72 and the average family size was 3.25. In the village the population was spread out with 27.8% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 33.0% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 91.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.2 males. The median income for a household in the village was $36,875, and the median income for a family was $47,500. Males had a median income of $29,375 versus $23,393 for females. The per capita income for the village was $16,426.
