City Airline is a regional airline based in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is privately owned and operates a small European network, as well as charters and wet leases. Its main base is Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport, Gothenburg[1].

Contents

History

The airline was established in 1997 and started operations on 10 September 2001. Until September 2001 it operated wet leases for British Midland when it started its own regional services from Gothenburg. It is wholly owned by Investment AB Janus of Gothenburg and employs 110 staff (as of July 2007)[1].

Destinations

The services to several of these cities correspond to the need of large companies in Gothenburg. Volvo Cars co-operates with Jaguar Cars in Birmingham. Volvo Group owns Renault Trucks in Lyon. It has been rumoured that City Airline will expand the formula and open up similar services to secondary services from Birmingham and Lyon, both airports currently served by the airline from Gothenburg.
