Citrus Ridge, often called Four Corners, is a census-designated place in Florida, located at a quadripoint formed by Lake, Orange, Osceola and Polk Counties. U.S. Route 27 and U.S. Route 192 serve the area. The population was 12,015 at the 2000 census. The area is informally referred to as the "Four Corners" region.

Geography

Citrus Ridge is located at 28°20′1″N, 81°38′33″W (28.333701, -81.642451)^GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 50.6 square miles (131.0 km²), of which, 46.8 square miles (121.3 km²) of it is land and 3.7 square miles (9.7 km²) of it (7.39%) is water.

Demographics

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 12,015 people, 4,909 households, and 3,485 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 256.5 people per square mile (99.0/km²). There were 8,278 housing units at an average density of 176.7/sq mi (68.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 86.90% White, 3.57% African American, 0.32% Native American, 2.29% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 4.12% from other races, and 2.72% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.60% of the population. There were 4,909 households out of which 25.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.7% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.0% were non-families. 20.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.82. In the CDP the population was spread out with 19.9% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 33.5% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.8 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $44,855, and the median income for a family was $48,125. Males had a median income of $30,725 versus $26,073 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $20,565. About 3.8% of families and 5.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.1% of those under age 18 and 3.0% of those age 65 or over.
