Chung Dahm Institute (CDI) teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) to more than 30,000 students in South Korea. It is the main branch of Chung Dahm Holdings, Inc., which operates a variety of for-profit educational businesses. CDI academies are located in 57 locations throughout South Korea, primarily in the largest populated cities including Seoul, Busan, Daejeon, Daegu, and Gwangju. Outside of Seoul, most branches are run by individual owners or companies as a franchised business. For example, Injung Education runs 5 branches in the Busan area. CDI teaches ESL, but focuses mostly on preparing students for the iBT TOEFL exam. The company is a privately held organization and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.

Services

CDI instructs students on how to prepare for the iBT TOEFL exam. CDI also runs a research and development center which conducts research on various disciplines such as second-language acquisition theories, teaching and learning methodologies, linguistics, educational psychology, ESL assessment, etc., with the aim of applying this research to designing, planning, and developing specific products for the educational market. CDI also provides study abroad programs, online writing programs, test preparation for the adult market and practice versions of the actual iBT TOEFL exam.
