Chris Turner is a Canadian writer. He is the author of the bestselling Planet Simpson: How a Cartoon Masterpiece Documented an Era and Defined a Generation, published in 2004. His latest work is Geography of Hope: A Guided Tour of the World We Need.[1] The latter was listed on the Globe & Mail's 2007 "Globe 100" list of the best books of the year.[2].
Biography
For several years, Turner reported on culture and technology for Shift Magazine. His writing for Shift won him four National Magazine Awards from 1999 to 2003, including the 2001 President's Medal for General Excellence, the highest honour in Canadian magazine writing. His writing has also appeared in The Globe & Mail, The Guardian, The Independent, The Sunday Times, Time Magazine, The National Post, Utne Reader, The South China Morning Post, Good Weekend and Adbusters.[1] He lives in Calgary, Alberta, with his wife, photographer Ashley Bristowe, and their daughter, Sloane.
