China (知名町 China-chō?) (pronounced [ʨina]) is a town located in Ōshima District, Kagoshima, Japan. As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 7,371 and the density of 138.32 persons per km². The total area is 53.29 km². Sugar cane, potatoes and peanuts farming are popular. Flower farming is also popular. There is a small Japanese Military Base present with radar / communications installation. One of two towns is on Okinoerabu Island. The main ship port and airport is in the other town on the island (Wadomari).
