Chasing Redbird is a book by Sharon Creech published in 1997, which is somewhat of a companion to the 1995 Newbery Medal-winning Walk Two Moons. The book centres around Zinny, a character who is outrages. In the beginning of the book Zinny finds herself her own trail.

Plot

Thirteen year old girl Zinny was raised by her aunt Jessie and when Jessie dies, Zinny finds an old overgrown trail in her backyard. Discovering the trail helps unravel some mysteries in her life as well as the mysteries of the people around her. Zinny spends the summer exploring the trail in search of something, though she is not entirely certain what she is searching for.
